MME Provides AEDs for Donation with Bru McCoy & Huddle for Hearts

Renting Medical Equipment

KNOXVILLE, TN – November 10, 2024

Master Medical Equipment was honored to participate in an AED (Automated External Defibrillator) donation event alongside UT Vols wide receiver Bru McCoy and Huddle for Hearts on Sunday in Knoxville, TN. Bru and Huddle for Hearts distributed AEDs to several youth athletic organizations, schools and community groups as part of an effort to protect the lives of student athletes. During the event, Huddle for Hearts and Bru provided CPR and AED demonstrations for all participants.

“As parents of a UT student and members of the Volunteer Club, we couldn’t be more excited for the great work being done in Tennessee through Huddle for Hearts. Our goal at Master Medical Equipment is delivering life-saving AEDs and CPR training to communities, both locally in Tennessee and around the nation,” says Mark Taylor, owner of Master Medical Equipment. MME as well as ZOLL Medical provided the AEDs for Huddle for Heart’s most recent event in Knoxville.

Huddle For Hearts is an initiative created in partnership between The Peyton Walker Foundation and Bru McCoy. They are dedicated to increasing awareness and survival rates of Sudden Cardiac Arrest, especially for youth sports organizations. Huddle For Hearts donates AEDs and CPR training to youth sports organizations – focusing primarily on under-served communities. To date, AEDs have been donated in Tennessee, Florida, Pennsylvania and Massachusetts.

Sudden cardiac arrest is the number one killer of student athletes. When a student is in cardiac arrest, the shock delivered by an AED can help to restore a normal heart rhythm – and potentially save a life. CPR and AED usage can make all the difference in saving a student athlete’s life in your community. We encourage our partners to get involved with the Huddle for Hearts initiative, and for interested organizations to donate AEDs or to apply for an AED with Huddle for Hearts.
